About Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps

The Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps was started on February 8, 1938. The idea for the Scouts was formed after some business men from Madison, Wisconsin attended a performance by the Racine Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps at the University of Wisconsin Stock Pavillion in 1937 and came back and told the tale. The Scouts are a premier youth performing arts organization for young men wanting to be a part of the modern drum and bugle corps scene. There are several sayings associated with the corps. You'll Never Walk Alone, the title of their theme song, is the set of words Scouts live by, meaning that someone will always be there for you. "Proud, Loud, and Pleasing the Crowd", is a sort of mantra set onto the Scouts by the people. All Scouts must be able to BYBO. Ask a member or an alumnus what that means. The Madison Scouts are focused on entertaining the crowd, and they do that every time. The corps of 150 members represents 41 of the United States. It also represents several other countries like Japan.
